On a regular basis I will ask different experts to give you (and me!) the answers to those oh so important questions on make-up and skincare, fashion, friendship, hair, music, and of course, boys. This month: Queen of Rock Coming soon: Fashion Autumn/Winter 2009 with the Queen of Style. And look out for the Truth About Hair Care with the King of Hair... and more! |

MUSIC
Dear Queen of Rock. What are the ten songs that every self respecting teen rock chick should have on her ipod? Please help!
Here is Edel's Top Ten:
Fleet Foxes – White Winter Hymnal
This band's debut album was my favourite album of 2008 and their mix of Appalachian folk with Beach Boys harmonies is addictive.
Kings of Leon – Use Somebody
The Kings of Leon brothers (and one cousin) are the most fanciable men in rock. Plus they play great dirty southern rock with pop hooks.
MGMT – Electric Feel
New York's MGMT were voted the best album of the year by just about everybody in 2008. Their party songs and happy vibes always get me in the mood for going out.
The Organ – Let The Bells Ring
This is an all-girl Canadian band who sing sad, sad songs with jangly guitars. Perfect for flinging yourself onto your bed to.
Sigur Ros – Hoppipolla
This is one of my favourite songs by Sigur Ros. I don't have a clue what they're saying because they're Icelandic and sing in a made-up language called Hopelandish, but it sounds beautiful.
M.I.A. – Jimmy
This Sri Lankan singer's album Kala is a really exiting, fun album. Every girl needs a song to dance around her bedroom to and this track, with its Bollywood sample, is perfect.
Muse – Supermassive Black Hole
Muse are a giant prog-rock band and this song is on the soundtrack to the film Twilight – the perfect soundtrack to a perfect adolescent love story.
Lady Gaga – Just Dance
Lady Gaga is one of the new batch of cool girl singers tipped for the top this year. Her album is a mix of dance, rock and electro-pop.
Bon Iver – Skinny Love
This is pared-back and sad music, to listen to when you're feeling blue. The singer wrote his album in a log cabin after he broke up with his girlfriend.
Girls Aloud – The Promise
Girls Aloud are terribly likeable. I think they've got great pop songs and even with cheesy love songs like this, they manage to pull it off.
Sarah: Thanks for sharing those tunes with us, Edel. I'm off to listen to The Loving Kind right now!
